Over her thirty-three year career in law enforcement, Chief Michelle Woodfork has earned a reputation as a proven leader with uncompromising integrity. From Sheriff's Deputy with Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, patrol officer with the New Orleans Police Department to our first female Superintendent, Chief Woodfork is the only candidate with the knowledge and experience needed to fix the problems facing the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office. Under her leadership, violent crime dropped twenty-five percent, carjackings dropped forty-five percent, and police officer recruitment tripled. A daughter of New Orleans, Michelle understands our city, culture, and the challenges we face. As Sheriff, she will bring immediate accountability, increase deputy recruitment, improve jail conditions, and focus on rehabilitation, reunification, and successful re-entry.
We have the opportunity to move New Orleans into a new and more prosperous era. But we will never realize that full potential if we do not first have a safe city to call home.
Leadership. Experience. and Integrity.
